If you look to the right side of this photo, you will see why this ruin was named Long Fingers.
Here is a very large spiral that is on the canyon wall over looking the Long Finger/Boomerang Ruin site.

we were just there and loved the site.
I just went there, as well as to Procession Panel, River House, Butler Wash & Signature House, Mesa Verde, Sand Island Panel, Valley of the Gods, and more, as a student of Fort Lewis College's Archaeology Field School on a class-capping field trip of awesomeness.
That spiral is something, no? Great photos, by the way. I love your lighting style. The Teacher's Assistants both thought they saw the hands across the wash, but were unsure of what exactly they were -- yet they knew that the design was cultural. I will surely be going back to the area to explore every ruin I can find. It's all quite amazing.
